In addition to the 30 dedicated adult volunteers who run our regular section meetings, activities and camps, we also have over 10 young leaders who are either Explorer Scouts or Duke of Edinburgh volunteers. Without the hard work and dedication of these volunteers we could not operate the group and would not be as successful as we are.
Although our day to day activities are financed by monthly subs we still need to raise funds to pay for new equipment, the training of our volunteers and improvements to our facilities. In recent years this has been possible by the generous donations from the following local organisations;
- The Wotton Lions
- Wotton Round Table
- Rotary Club
- The Free Masons
- Gloucester County Council – Growing our Communities Fund
- Gloucester County Council – Build Back Better Fund
We also undertake our own fund raising activities such as;
- Town Hall Teas
- Teas at Conygres
- Bag Packing at local supermarkets
- Pancake sales at local events such as school fairs and Christmas Under The Edge
- The sale of our hut in Wotton town
As we put in place our plans to develop the Conygres site and increase the size of our Hall, we have embarked on a fund raising strategy. This has been extremely successful and has attracted funding from the following national organisations. We would like to thank these organisations for their extremely generous grants and donations and support of the Scouting movement overall;
- Cotswold District Scouts
- Bernard Sunley Foundation
- Garfield Western Foundation
- Magnox NDA
- Arnold Clark
- Summerfield Charitable Trust
- Semperian
- Denman Charitable Trust
- Nibley Festival Charitable trust
- Lesley Sell Charitable Trust
