In 2017, the Executive Committee of 1st Wotton-under-Edge Scout Group made the decision to dispose of our headquarters in Wotton town (the John Harding Memorial Hut) for a number of reasons and move all operations to Conygres (traditionally our summer residence originally purchased by the Group in 1978). Thus making Conygres our Head Quarters (HQ).
Now that we have raised sufficient funding to complete essential safety improvements we have turned our attention to developing an all weather, all year round meeting place for our Group. We are currently raising funds to build a new meeting hall that will provide modern, hygienic accessible indoor space for the 180 members of the Group but also allow us to grow our membership and provide scouting activities to as many local youngsters as possible.
Our fund raising has now reached over £120,000 but we still need more. If you can help us raise funds or would like to make a donation please get in touch via our contacts page.
